Leading SAFe

Course Description

In the Leading SAFe® course, we will learn all the key concepts of the SAFe® framework based on principles of Lean, systems thinking, agile software development, product development and DevOps. We will discuss what a lean-agile mindset means and why it is so important for companies in today’s market environment. We will learn how to organize agile teams and agile programs (so-called Agile Release Trains) around the value. We will touch the importance of a customer-oriented approach and show some design thinking techniques that help to fulfill it. You will learn key information about the recommended agile ceremonies at the level of the agile program, we will experience PI Planning event together. We will also show you how to consider concepts such as Continuous Delivery Pipeline, DevOps and Lean portfolio management and how to apply them in your company.

Target Group

The course is intended for all those who participate or want to participate in the agile transformation of the company and the coordination of more agile teams, especially for:  

• Leaders (top and middle management), leaders of agile transformation,
• portfolio managers, PMO a process managers,
• program managers, project managers,
• Scrum Masters, product owners, product managers,
• release managers, test managers, quality managers,
• enterprise and system architects.

The course does not require any prior knowledge. However, we recommend the following minimum experience for those participants who will also want to pass the SAFe® Agilist certification exam:

• 5+ years of experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product development, or project management
• experience with Scrum methodology

Online Course Organization

The course is facilitated by a SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC) certified by Scaled Agile, Inc.

The course is interactive, combining official SAFe® training materials, practical exercises and sharing the practical experiences of the trainer with implementation of SAFe® principles in large companies operating in the Czech Republic.

A day before the course we organize later in the afternoon from 17:15 to 18:00 an optional introduction session for all the participants, where we explain the virtual environment we will use during the course and how to behave in it.

Certification

Optionally you can purchase together with the course a possibility to pass a certification exam. This possibility includes:

• one cost free attempt to pass the SAFE® Agilist certification exam within 30 calendar days from the course attendance
• one year membership for SAFE® Studio (former SAFe® Community Platform) with a lot of education resources and community forum for people who are interested in implementation of agile principles in large companies
• up to 15 PDU (PMI education requirements needed to prolongue PMP andPgMP certifications) and up to 15 SEU (Scrum Alliance C category education requirements for renewal of the CSP certification)
